Head of Business Development

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own building the top of our acquisition funnel.
Identify and qualify company targets and nurture leads – initiate and maintain relationships with owners of utility services businesses.
Experiment with new outreach and engagement strategies, including researching new and innovative methods for increasing the impact of Stack Holdings' M&A Origination team
Coordinate meetings, generate reports on leads, arrange qualified appointments and progress opportunities through the M&A pipeline
Analyze potential opportunities for business strength, founder fit, and synergy with Stack’s thesis
Participate in discussions with M&A target management teams and advisors from origination to the issuance of Indicative Offers, including drafting Indicative Offer letters and fielding offer-specific questions following offers being issued
Review target company financials, team, and market to assess fit
It’s a plus if you can conduct preliminary analysis on acquisition target companies when needed, including conducting attrition analysis, restating financials (income statements), and building initial discounted cash flow model framework
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Excellent academic performance in an Undergraduate Business degree
Minimum 2+ years of experience in a business development/lead generation role for a search fund, HoldCo, a private equity firm, or an investment bank
Strong preference for lower middle market experience.
Proven ability to manage a pipeline of leads and exceed prospecting targets/KPIs
